It’s that time of year again when LA GEAR UP distributes School Enhancement Grant Applications for Special Initiative funding to eligible districts and schools.  As usual, your LA GEAR UP Staff Coordinator will be available to assist you in preparing your School Enhancement Grant Applications. 2010-2011 School Enhancement Grant Application

Component Templates: The following documents must be unzipped using Microsoft Excel.  After clicking on the link, select save file and then open the document.

The Cover Sheet - Please attach this document to your School Enhancement Grant Application Packet with all of the required signatures.

Professional Development (PD) Inventory Spreadsheet - Please remember to provide an inventory of PD for the 2009-2010 academic year as well as projected inventory for the 2010-2011 academic year.  Notice the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet are labeled for each academic year.

Budget Table Template -This document is provided so that participants might copy and paste the table into their Microsoft Word documents easily.  These tables will be imported into Cooperative Agreements and Contracts.

1.    If you submitted a Notice of Intent, you have received a proposal identification number.  If you did not submit a Notice of Intent and plan on submitting a proposal, please e-mail Mrs. Genevieve Charles at Genevieve.Charles@la.gov  and cc Marcia.Carter@la.gov.

2.    Once you have obtained your proposal identification number, go to www.lasip.org/dropbox/.

4.    Follow the directions listed on the 2010-2011 LaSIP Mathematics, Science * LIGO Science, and ELA/Literacy Proposal Submission Form, and if you have any problems uploading your proposal, contact Neal at 225-278-6656, and copy Genevieve.

2009-2010 Parent Survey

On September 29, 2009, more than 200 administrators, teachers, students, and distinguished educators from across Louisiana will gather at the New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center for the Louisiana GEAR UP 2009 Fall Conference.

This Best Practices Conference is intended to provide participants with an opportunity both to share their success and learn from the success of others.  There will also be an informative discussion about the basic administration of Louisiana GEAR UP at the school level.  Sessions are designed to allow all attendees the chance to hear from multiple individuals with varying perspectives on education reform.
